Curro Noriega was born in Malaga (Spain). He fell in love with electric guitar after playing on one owned by his cousin Pedro and listening to some solos on the radio. He started playing professionally at age 16 in the blues and jazz clubs of Madrid and since then has remained active as a professional musician, playing (leader and sideman, from duos to big bands) teaching, writing, and producing music.

 

He lives in Amsterdam, and he is the leader of two bands, "The Curro Noriega Band", based in the Netherlands - and "Dilema" - his Madrilenian rhythm and blues band.
